LRT Fines SMRT
The Land Transport Authority (commonly known as LTA) has fined SMRT a lump sum of $387,176 over the disruption caused on 21january2008. It all happened when SMRT, while doing mantainance over a MRT, workers negelected a brake to keep the train from moving backwards. This caused the train, later, to move backwards and end up crashing into its locomotive at 3.10am, which then caused servere line disruptions within the Tanah Merah & Pasir Ris stations. This had a chain reaction, as countless rush-hour commuters had to board trains provided by SMRT by 5am. They were being delayed and they had no choice but to wait for the bus that SMRT provides whenever a train breaks down or stops functioning all of a sudden.
More than 57,000 commuters had to arrive late in their workplace, with some even missing their working schedule. The lines remained OOS till 12.45pm.
3months-old toddler: Youngest Donor of donating skin
Ryan Wong, a passed on baby which fallen to the hands on a cleft lip during operations in January, his parents, in a rare gesture, donated his skin.
Parents of Ryan Wong also decided to donate his organs, but his organs were either too small or not yet well developed to be put into good use. Now, the Wongs are awaiting a call in the near future to see who has received the skin in case of servere turf/burns. Not many people would have known what this baby did, as between year 2004 to 2007, only two to four donors were surfaced to donating thier skin. A commonly misjudged fact : Skin Donors will not have thier entire body ripped off, but actually its just a small part of the body being cut off and saved for future usage. Many people would usually think that skin donors will look disfigured after donating skin. Harvested areas will not mar the decreased also, as most people would want to deceased to live in peace, not in a disfigured way.

In the first arcticle, i think that most people, including me, would be pissed by this disruption. Imagine if you live in Tanah Merah, and your workplace is at Pasir Ris. you'll certainly feel the disraught among those commuters who are waiting for the train/bus. Now the other problem is, you're not the only living soul being affected in Singapore, 57,000 other people are also in the soup with you. Now take that amount and put into 70buses that the SMRT provides. 814 people per bus. One bus can fit how many people? Say 50 the most, now the 70 buses have to make quadtriple trips front and back. (i'm already pissed hahahaha) Now you understand?
Second article. Ryan is a hero among us zeros. we living people dont donate our skin because we dont want to be disfigured or even look weird. but with the doctor's analysis, skin harvested will grow back, but its just more pale than the other skin tone. (btw there's something called Tanning) I'm not saying that i'm a hero, but hey, we're all afraid that we'll loose our good looks when we donate our skin. I'm a zero, like everyone else here in Singapore.
*salutes Ryan and the others, althought is a miserable amount*
Come on people, show some skin. LOL
